Feeling Better During Pregnancy

First off...
YOU'RE CARRYING A LIFE!
You're beautiful to everyone you pass!
No one cares about what your skin looks like, or that your hair is messed up. They're looking at your belly! and they're not saying "ew!" They're saying "aw!"

But, like every other woman in the world, I had trouble adjusting to the newly gained weight, the mood swings, the changes in my skin and body, and the different sleep patterns. Luckily by my third trimester (which felt like it took a year to get to) I had different feelings toward my body! I learned to embrace it, every single moment of it! I actually got to a point where I've never felt more beautiful than I did when I was pregnant.

 Here's How:

1] Don't hide your belly!
Show it off! Wear shirts that actually make you look pregnant! Trying to squeeze into normal clothes can actually make you look worse. I was at a rehab facility visiting a family member when my belly was first spotted. The girl came up to me and said "Your belly is adorable!" My thoughts that everyone was looking at me thinking I was fat were changed right then and there.

2] Change your hair!
A drastic change to your lovely locks is always a big help, but when it's really the only thing you can change, it's even better! Cut it, curl it, straighten it, style it differently than you normally would. Your face is going through changes in size (maybe even shape, if you're like me) and will hold hairstyles that you never thought would look good on you. Give them all a try!

3] Make Time For Yourself!
I know waking up feeling beautiful is hard for any woman, especially when we weigh a billion pounds more than we did 6 months ago... Oh, not that much? It was just me then! Wake up and fix yourself up some days! A dash of makeup, a comb, and some cute clothes can always make you feel better! Remember to wear clothes made for you. We all try to squeeze into our old clothes as long as possible, but we never realize that maternity clothes actually does look better on a pregnant woman. I remember my first pair of "mommy" jeans... good times!

4] Exercise!
Not only is it healthy for you and the baby, but it keeps your mind off of things for a while! WALK WALK WALK! The best feeling in the world is going for a walk and clearing your head, especially when you know it is benefiting your new bundle of love! Walking will help you to feel better physically!

5] Find a hobby!
Anything that can take your mind off of things is great! I started reading, I would treat myself to one book a week until my baby got here. I read just about every baby book and magazine out there! Now, I have no time to read, really. But I did enjoy it a lot while I was pregnant. A friend of mine started knitting... she had clothes and booties and blankies to last forever by the time her baby got here!

6] Rest!
The first few weeks that baby is in the home are very restless. It's hard to sleep when you have this life that you are watching over! So during the pregnancy, rest as much as you can. Especially towards the end, when baby is almost here! Take little cat naps ;) Don't let your body get to used to them, because they probably won't last! haha

6] EMBRACE IT!
What else can you do? You're not diseased, you're not sick, YOU'RE PREGNANT! My fiance' called me Pork Chop the entire time I was pregnant... It depressed me at first, but once I started laughing with him, everything was easy. My name was shortened later to "Porky." Not too shabby! ha!

P.S.
It takes one comment like "You're such a beautiful woman while pregnant." to change your whole outlook... This happened to me in Wal-Mart. An old lady pushing a cart full of vegetables told me I was glowing and made a beautiful pregnant woman.  I wish I would have gotten that lady's name and address so I could thank her <3
