Diamonds get dull after being worn a while.
I paid 60 bucks for some cleaning crap in the mall when I was about 17.
never again.
TOOTHPASTE SHINES DIAMONDS!
When My Fiance' gave me my ring, he said "Keep it up with toothpaste."
I know what you're thinking... "How many rings has this guy bought?!" haha
Anyway, I tried it and it worked like a charm.
Just put toothpaste on a toothbrush,
Rub in a circular motion on the entire piece of jewelry.
Run it under tap water and dry if off to watch it sparkle like new.

this actually can scratch your jewelry. was instructed by my jeweler to never do this.....
ReplyDeleteNO! NEVER use toothpaste your jewelry! You will ruin the luster of your diamonds and gemstones over time. Toothpaste is bad for your diamonds or other gemstones! It's to harsh. There are abrasives in toothpaste that will scratch and dull your gemstones over time. Plus it can form a cement like film on your gemstone. You want a beautiful shine? Just use jewelry cleaner, a mild soap, or clean it with Windex.
ReplyDeleteI've been doing this for years. can't afford cleaner. My diamonds are fine
ReplyDeleteI've only had to do this like 3 times since I got the ring, but I don't find it ruined the diamond at all… Im guessing it's okay in moderation?
ReplyDeleteWindex… I'll have to try that!
use baking soda sludge/paste soak then wash off....
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that it could mess them up after using it a while, but it won't hurt it to do it a few times
