Getting Settled

Wow! Tomorrow makes two weeks that we have been living in our new home! Can't say they were the easiest of weeks, but that is to be expected, I guess! We've already been through about 600 obstacles with the house, and even more with Gabriel. I think we are finally adjusted, though.

We are having fun finishing up the house. It's nice to call it my own, but I definitely miss my Mommy!

The third night here, the toilet backed up and upon digging up the entire yard, Micah found a Wal-Mart bag that had been flushed by one of the kids!

Talk about a crappy situation.

Then, the weather decided t play "Rainforest," where it rained every single afternoon. It was almost scary. My sister and I had to float into our driveway over the weekend! The power went out 3 times. That means we had no Toy Story. Guess who was pissed.

Under our carport

My dolphin wind chimes made it through the horrible weather, so I took that as a good sign!

Since we've moved in, I've burned my hand, dropped my Daddy's homemade (SOLID WOOD) daybead on my foot, stabbed myself with a drill bit, and experienced a title wave from the hot water tank. Micah's cut his hand a bunch of times, got stung by bees, and still managed to get work done.
We also met our first rat. It looked just like this…

Okay, maybe not exactly like that… But it was scary!

On the good side, We also gave some working electronics to a neighbor who lost his TV to lightning, found a huge pile of sinker cypress in the tool shed, and made a spot outside to play the WII. It has been so fun. We dance in the kitchen every morning. Gabriel loves that part…

Best part of the house… Kitchen Radio

Successful week, I'd say!

It also took a while for Gabriel to get used to being here. I don't think it was the new place. I think it was being away from MawMaw. He finally found comfort in the backyard…

We got a little decorating done too…

This is Hugo. He wil teach me to cook.

We had chicken legs for supper.

Mod Podge, book pages, and an old shelf.
My beloved coffee area!

We've had a lot of firsts since moving here as well!

First night in his own room

Finally gripped his pencil!
He's also eaten his first dirt ball :/ Not a proud first for Mommy! He sat in his first puddle of mud. He also is in love with the traffic on the highway… not very good. I enjoy watching him get excited, though!

Well, we love it here. It's nice having Daddy working home with us for a change! We still have tons to do! But it's finally happened! It's all ours and we are very proud of it <3
The first thing we bought for the house… I was 6 months pregnant. 50 cents. Love it!
